Martha Geraldine Baker Oljey, 62, formerly of Lynn, died in Columbia, Tenn. on Sunday Dec 26, 2004. Martha formerly worked in CADIS production.
 
Daughter of Alexander A. Baker and Mary H. (Perry) Baker.  She was employed at NYNEX and Lynn Hospital.  She leaves 2 sons, Richard F. Oljey, Jr. of Lowell and Michael B. Oljey of Pulaski, Tenn.; 3 sisters, Viola M. Reed of Virginia Beach, Sr. Martha Marie, C.S.J. of Framingham and Maureen S. Faulkner of Lynn; a brother, Roland L. Baker of Westborough; two step-grandaughters; a step-grandson and several nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Ruth E. Cipoletti.

Edward (Jim) J. Carroll Sr. 88, Sarasota, died Dec. 19, 2004.

He was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Lowell, Mass., and came to Sarasota in 1985 from East Dennis, Mass. He retired after 34 years in sales for New England Telephone (New Bedford crew), and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Siesta Key, FL. and the Knights of Columbus in Lowell, Mass.

Survivors include his wife, Helen A.; a daughter, Maureen Dubee of Sarasota; a son,

Edward J. Jr. of Dorchester, Mass.; a sister, Marion E. of Worcester, Mass., and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Farley Funeral Home, 265 Nokomis Ave, Venice, FL.  (941) 488-2291. A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Siesta Key, FL.

Martina C. “Tina” (McGaughey) Sawyer, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, died Friday at Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital after a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Herbert W. Sawyer. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, she is the daughter of the late Jerome A. and Elizabeth A. (Toole) McGaughey.


She was raised in Lynn and attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School and Lynn Classical High School. She lived in Lynn for 34 years and has lived in Peabody for the past 48 years. She worked for General Electric during World War II, then she

worked for Analogic from 1960-1970. Finally, she worked for Honeywell until her retirement in 1980. An avid bingo player, she loved going to Foxwoods. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and traveling.

She is survived by 2 sons; Thomas Sawyer of Peabody, Herbert G. Sawyer and his wife Diane of Peabody, 1 daughter; Elizabeth Sawyer of Peabody (formerly worked in CSD and in Field Sales), 4 grandchildren, Christopher and James Sawyer of Peabody and Margaret and Sarah Munoz of Florida; 1 brother, Thomas McGaughey of Lynn, and 2 sisters, Josephine Albanese of Saugus and Frances Kehoe of Lynnfield. She is the grandmother of the late Michael Sawyer.


Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 AM from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home 426 Broadway (Rte. 129) Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, Peabody, at 9 AM. Viola J. "Vi" (Fantini) Mullaney 83, of 8 DiVittorio Dr., died Wednesday November 24, 2004,  in her home. Wife of James K. Mullaney of Milford. Sister of Leo Fantini, Jr. of Milford, Esther Bogus of Milford, Dora Beschi of Medway, Lena Fitzpatrick of Milford. Grandmother of 4. Great-grandmother of 11, many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., MILFORD. David William Martin, 55, of Danvers, died Sunday, Nov 21, 2004, following a long Illness. He was the husband of Karen (Gifford) Martin.

Born in Newton on Nov 15, 1949, he was the son of George and Dorothy (Coveney) Martin of Peabody.  He was raised in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School.  He continued his education thereafter, earning degrees from both Merrimack College and Northeastern University.

Mr. Martin served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged.
Mr. Martin worked as an electronics engineer fir many years at Symmetricom, formerly known as Datum Inc., in Beverly, until the time of his illness.

A longtime resident of Danvers, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hike, swim, run and ski. He also enjoyed reading, as well as spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 28 years and his parents, Mr. Martin is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Flewelling and her husband, Timothy, of Merrimac and Heather Martin of Danvers and her fiancé, Brian Fojt, of Texas; a brother, George Martin Jr. of Virginia; many nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Gifford of Danvers

His funeral will be held from thePeterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers, (978) 774-6600, Wednesday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Richard Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Martin J. (Pat) Cleary, of Rockland, November 10, 2004 Age 82. Husband of the late Gladys E. (Raymond) Cleary. Father of Mary Leigh Nelson of Hanson and Sean M. Cleary of Georgia. Brother of Leo Cleary of Florida, Geraldine Cleary of Rockland and the late Mary McCall and Alice Campbell. Also survived my many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Monday, November 15th at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 14th from 5-8 PM.

Mr. Cleary died on Wednesday at the Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief period of failing health. He was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, son of the late Leo and Mary (MacIsaac) Cleary and was raised and educated in Braintree. He has made his home in Rockland since 1957. Martin had been employed by New England Telephone Co. for 33 years as a Yellow Pages Salesman and he retired in 1986.

He was an avid participant in the stock market and was proud of his accomplishments in that arena over the years. He enjoyed sailing and for several years owned his own sailboat the “Clear-Ray” which he sailed out of Hingham and Fall River. He also enjoyed fine automobiles and had at one time participated in the sport of car racing. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.

James P. Grace, age 49, of Peabody, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Sharon (Flynn) Grace (worked in CADIS) his wife of 15 years.

Born in Lynn, and raised in Saugus, he was the son of Ethel (Leofilos) Grace of Saugus, and the late Jesse Grace. He was a graduate of Saugus High School and had also attended ITT Tech. He had lived in Peabody for the past 15years.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by 1 daughter; Amanda Rose Grace of Peabody, a 6th grade student at Higgins Middle School, 1 sister, Esther Marcinkus, and her husband Joseph, of Woodridge, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 10am in the Solimine Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Rte. 129) Lynn. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Mrs. Evelyn (DeMarco) (Gemma) Anderson, 90, of Lynn, died Wednesday, Nov.3, 2004 in a local nursing home after a brief illness.   She was the wife of the late Rocco Gemma and William Anderson.

 
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose DeMarco.   Mrs. Anderson leaves three daughters, Maryann Dogiel of Lynn, Lorraine Johnson of Citrus Springs, Fla. and Kathleen Croteau (worked in CSD) of Las Vegas, Nev; four stepchildren, William Anderson of Oklahoma, Carol Burnell of Saugus, Ellen Ellsworth of
New Hampshire and Bruce Anderson of Lynn; two sisters, Virginia Dembroseo of Brighton

and Vera Snell of Las Vegas, Nev; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.    She was the mother of the late Rose Marie Morello and Caroline Shelton and sister of the late Al DeMarco and Agnes Deltofo.

The funeral will be held from the St. Laurent Funeral Home, 554 Western Ave., Lynn on Monday at 9:00am followed by a funeral mass in Holy Family Church in Lynn at 10:00am   Visiting hours Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Latham, NY - Jeanne Kucskar MacMillan, 57, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2004 at Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Troy on August 23, 1947, Jeanne was a daughter of the late Frank A. and Elizabeth Farkas Kucskar. She was raised in the Northside of Waterford and was a graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School, class of 1965. Jeanne was a retiree of Verizon where she was employed for 25 years. She was the wife of the late Alan R. MacMillan and is survived by her daughter, June MacMillan of Green Island; her sisters, Beth Stephens and her husband John of Mayfield, N.Y. and Lynn Leonardo and her husband Hugh of Glendale, Ariz.; her brothers, Edward F. Kucskar Sr. and his wife Jean of Maplewood, N.Y., Kyle Kucskar and his wife Kim of Saratoga, N.Y. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral service on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet where the Reverend Francis DuBois, Pastor of St. Ambrose Church, Latham will officiate. Christes A. “Chris” Pujo, age 85, of Lynn, died Tuesday at Union Hospital after a lengthy illness. He is the husband of Mary C. (Hegner) Pujo, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Albania, he is the son of the late Anastos and Alexandra (Rusha) Pujo. Mr. Pujo moved to Lynn at the age of 9. He was educated in Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He worked as a carpenter at the Boston Naval Shipyard for many years, until it was closed; he then worked for many years for the Lynn School Department as a custodian. He loved dancing and was known as the “King of the Waltz”, loved playing the stock market, swimming, and was a member of St. George Cathedral, Boston.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son; Charles D. Pujo, and his wife Diane, of Epping, New Hampshire, 2 daughters; Anita Stath, of Lynn, and
Katherine C. Pujo, of Lynn, 1 brother; Peter Pujo, of Beverly, 1 sister; Jennie Adamo, of Lynn, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Victor Pujo, Lefteria Anthony, and Tulia Peters.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 9am from the Solimine Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home 426 Broadway, (Rte. 129) Lynn, followed by a Funeral Service at 10am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn. Yvonne Anderson's Mother, Mary Eva Masseau died peacefully on Saturday evening. She was born 09/09/09 and passed away on 09/05/04.She was the wife of Robert H.Masseau who predeceased her 38 years ago and the Mother of Robert M.Masseau, who passed away in 2000.

 
Mary Eva graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester NY in 1932 with a BS and from Montclair State University with a Masters in Education in 1966. She was a retired Director of Guidance at Mount St. Dominic's Academy in Caldwell NJ. 
 
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Greenawalt and her husband Bill of Slingerlands NY, Mrs.Yvonne Anderson and her husband George of Topsfield, Ma, and two sons, Mr. Harvey J. Masseau of Hackettstown, NJ, and Mr. Michael G. Masseau of Ogden, NY. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
 
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Imaculate Conception in Montclair NJ on Saturday the 11th of September 2004 at 10 am.

Joseph C. Blinn, age 84 of Lincoln St. Lynn died Tues. Aug 17 in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness.  Husband of Catherine F. (Knight) of Lynn and father of Valerie Dupuis.  Born in Bernard, Nova Scotia, attended local schools, member of the Infantry in the Canadian Army during World War II.  Worked as a carpenter for Welch Contractors in Boston and retired in 1974.   
Funeral services were held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday August 28, 2004 at 11 a.m.   Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn    Visiting hours were  Friday August 27th, 3-7 p.m.   Donations in his memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.

Miss Helen Marie Snyder, 50, of Lynn died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at the North Shore Medical Center, Union Hospital. Helen worked for 12 years in YP Production in Boston and Lynn.  

    Born in St. John's,  Mich., she was the daughter of  Elizabeth (Weeden) Morin of Lynn and  the late Donald E. Snyder and Stepdaughter of the late Lynn Police office Donald Morin.
 
  She graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1971.  She played girl's softball and was on the Lynn Park League.
 
  Miss Snyder leaves two brothers, Norman R. Snyder of Michigan and John O. Snyder of  Maine; a sister Kathy Saccone of Peabody; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
 
  Graveside services were held in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody on Saturday June 5, at 11 am.  Arrangements by the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St.,  Lynn.

SCHOFIELD Thomas J., of Squantum, August 3, 2004, after a battle with cancer, beloved husband of Dorothy (Hayes) Schofield. Tom was a former YP District Sales Manager. Loving father of Annemarie A. SALEM- Euline G. (Prescod) Hill, 92, of Salem, wife of the late Albert C. Hill, Sr., and daughter of the late
Jeremiah M. and Aletha V. (Alleyne) Prescod, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Abbott House Nursing
Home in Lynn. Born in and raised in Cambridge, and a 1932 graduate of Cambridge High & Latin School, she was a resident of Salem since the middle 1930's.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the City of Salem as a dietician at the former chronic disease
hospital at the Salem Willows. In her retirement years, she worked in the convent at the Immaculate
Conception Church and later at the Women’s Friend Society, both in Salem.

Mrs. Hill was a communicant of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Salem, where she was a charter member of the Girls Friendly Society, and directed the Bean Suppers held at the church for many years. She was a member of the Women’s Friend Society and the Ward One Senior Citizens, Salem.

Enjoyment and celebration of family was a significant part of Euline’s life in addition to her other favorite pastimes of knitting and crocheting gifts for family members and friends as well as watching all sporting events, especially baseball, basketball, football and golf.

She is survived by six children, three daughters, Natalie S. O’Neil, Cynthia A. Sport and Aletha B. Hill
all of Salem, three sons, Sinclair L. Hill and his wife Gloria of Summerlin, Nevada, Albert C. Hill Jr. and his wife Ruby of Salem, and Lorenza E. Hill Sr. and his wife Christine of Salem, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a dear sister-in-law Margaret Hill of Salem, and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her only sibling, Enid L. McCoy.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2004, at 11 am at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Thursday, from 4 to 8 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Ray R. O'Blenes, 93, of President St., Lynn died Tuesday in Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Stacey) O'Blenes.

Born in New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late John P. & Laura (Estabrook) O'Blenes, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School & attended Burdett College. He has been a resident of Lynn for over 80 years.

He was employed for United Farmer's Milk Co. as a Salesman for 20 years until his retirement in 1972. He was previously employed as a contractor with his father for the J. P. O'Blenes & Sons Co. for many years.

He enjoyed walking, playing pool, and spending time with his family & friends.

He leaves 3 sons James C. O'Blenes & his wife Dorothy of Lynn, Ray P. O'Blenes & his wife Christine of Lynn, & Robert N. O'Blenes & his wife Sharlene of Peabody, 3 daughters Jean Connor, June M. McCormick, & Barbara A. O'Blenes all of Lynn, 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was father of the late Charles G. O'Blenes, brother of the late Chandler, Robert, Henry, Ralph & Steve O'Blenes, Minnie Gates, & Nita Anderson, father-in-law of the late Merle McCormick, great grandfather of the late Sean Riccadelli, & great great grandfather of the late Amanda Connor & Matthew McMahon.

Whether he was improving his spacious Beverly home, or hosting July cookouts for the past 15 years for the Directory Alumni, Larry Nichols, a retired YP Salesman, was know for his generous nature.

 
Larry Nichols died June 6, 2004 and will be sorely missed by his former co-workers and the membership of the Directory Alumni Council.

A wake will be held at the Lee Moody & Russell Funeral Home at 9 Dane St, Beverly, MA on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.  Following the wake a gathering of Larry's friends will be held at Larry's home at 600 Essex Street, Beverly, MA.  The family requests No Flowers please.
